Amy Nicole JOHNSON

Amy Nicole JOHNSON, of Galeton, PA, born October 17, 1989, passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2023.

Amy was an immeasurable person in many ways. As achingly beautiful as she was–with a beaming smile and sparkling (and often mischievous) green eyes–her heart and brilliant mind were even more stunning. She was many things wrapped into one small package. She was a gremlin trucker heart, a fierce and loyal family member, and unwavering friend. She was a sharp wit and a lover of knowledge, science, music, and animals. Amy grew up in Galeton and later attended Pennsylvania College of Technology, becoming the finest nurse a patient could ask for.

She was a soulmate and devoted sister to Melanie (Chad) Shuemaker, a loving daughter to her father, Michael Johnson, doting aunt to Matthew McCullough, and dedicated partner to James Akeley. Amy was also a surrogate sister to a gaggle of childhood friends and a nurturing pet parent. She is survived by a number of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Johnson, who we take comfort in knowing she is with now, and her grandparents.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on a future date with her close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the animal charity of the donor's choice.

Her life was a blessing, and all our memories with her are treasures. We will see you again someday; until then, we will sing the sorrow.
