Alma Rohrer HERSHEY, 80, of Coudersport, PA, formerly of Strasburg, Lancaster County, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Hospice and Community Care, Lancaster, PA. Born August 4, 1932, in Strasburg, she was the daughter of Willis J. and Mabel Landis Rohrer. On September 22, 1949, in Strasburg, she married Melvin B. Hershey, who survives. She and her husband operated a dairy farm in Coudersport for many years. Alma was instrumental working with her husband starting the Sweden Community Church in Potter County. She was also a Real Estate Salesperson for 42 years in Potter county. Cherished by her family, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended with her husband Gold Church in Gold, PA. Surviving besides her husband, Melvin, are: five children, Fred Rohrer (Mildred) Hershey of Lancaster, Rodney Lee (Joanna) Hershey of Roulette, PA, Connie Marie (Russell) Knight of East Earl, PA, Philip Lynn (Laurel) Hershey of Coudersport, and Sherri Ann (Jeff) Gilbert of Ephrata, PA; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Mervin Rohrer of Ilse, MN; nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Clyde of Coudersport, Layton of Armstrong, BC, Canada, and Cletus of Sunbury, PA. Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, and at the Gold Church, Gold, PA on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM, with Funeral Services following at 1:30 PM. The Rev. Frank Mickle, Pastor, will officiate.
