Albert L. “Sis” Treat
PORT ALLEGANY- Albert L. “Sis” Treat, 79, of N. Brooklynside Rd., passed away Monday (Jan. 25, 2016) in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.
Born Octobert 23, 1936, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Bert and Katherine Gregory Hults. On October 21, 1955, in Port Allegany, she married Willard “Pudge” Treat, who died Sept. 12, 1992.
Alberta had worked as a cook for the former Kitchen Inn of Port Allegany, and most recently with the North Penn Gas Co., retiring in 2008, with 41 years of service.
She was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, Class of 1955.
Alberta attended the First Baptist Church of Port Allegany.
Mrs. Treat was an avid square dancer and with her husband, founded the Alley Kat Square Dancers. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and traveling with her cousin, Jody Postlewait. Alberta was very active in family genealogy, and enjoyed being with her family.
Surviving are a brother-in-law, Bernard (Elizabeth) Treat of Chambersburg, PA; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Hults of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willard, and three brothers, Bert Hults, Jr., Robert Hults, and Richard Hults.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (Jan. 29, 2016) with Rev. Michael Culver, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Port Allegany, officiating. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
