Albert Benjamin WATKINS

Albert Benjamin WATKINS, 88, of La Grange, TX, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 in Hallettsville, TX.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 7, 2023 in Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville.  Pastor Bob Treat will officiate.  Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Tioga County Honor Guard.  A luncheon will follow the service at the Home Comfort Restaurant, Westfield, PA.  

Born March 5, 1935 in Little Marsh, PA, he was the son of George Newell and Viola Minnie Wentzell Watkins.  A U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, he served honorably from 1954 – 1957.  Raised in Pennsylvania and upstate New York, Albert moved to Texas in 1975 for work.  He had a long career as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed traveling throughout the states for work and pleasure and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle as often as he could.  

Surviving are: his children, Gene Edward (Joanne Swan) Watkins of Portsmouth, VA and Vicki Watkins (Gary) Mueller of Schulenburg; two grandchildren, Jayme Nichol Watkins of Ashland, VA and Casey Benjamin (Kelcy) Mueller of Pearland, TX; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by five brothers, Herbert N. Watkins, Francis Watkins, Wilbur Watkins, Clifford Watkins, and Rexford Watkins.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ulysses Library, P.O. Box 316, Ulysses, PA 16948.
