Agnes M. Dembicki
PORT ALLEGANY- Agnes M. Dembicki, 95, formerly of Port Allegany and Roulette, passed away Friday (Aug. 4, 2017) in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.
Born December 12, 1921, in New York City, she was a daughter of August J. and Roseann Corcoran Hock. She married Nicholas J. Dembicki, who died Nov. 3, 1993.
Agnes grew up and went to school in New York City, where she attended the Yost Business College, New York City, in 1940. Agnes was in the business world for 35 years, as a secretary and executive secretary.
She was a resident of this area since 1975, coming from New York City, Philadelphia, and New Jersey.
Mrs. Dembicki was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church of Port Allegany, where she was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Olney Unit 388, Philadelphia, past member of the African Violet Society, Knoxville, TN, and the Beaumont Texas American Violet Society, and enjoyed fishing in both fresh & saltwater.
Surviving are a son, David M. (M. Elaine) Dembicki of Chesapeake, VA; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grand-children; 1 great-great grandchild; and two son-in-laws, James DiDio of Springfield, PA, and James Quinn of Franklinville, NJ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nicholas, and three daughters, Joanne K. DiDio, Christine Quinn, Teresa Cooper; and a brother, Gerald Hock.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Sunday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (Aug. 7, 2017) in St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church with Rev. James Campbell and as celebrant. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery, Roulette, PA.
A scriptural wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
