PORT ALLEGANY- Adah F. Meacham, 68, of W. Ransom St., passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Friday (Feb. 9, 2024) after a lengthy illness.

Born July 13, 1955, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Walter F. and Jennie G. Shaffer Miles.  On Feb. 19, 1977, she married David C. Meacham, who died Feb. 28, 2013.

Adah was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School.

She was known for her generosity, love of family, and God. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones, working on various family and church events.  Her hobbies included sewing, embroidery, crocheting, crafts, camping and enjoyed traveling with family.

Surviving is a daughter, Amy L. (Daniel) Thompson of Elma, NY, adopted son, Isaiah Meacham of Port Allegany; a stepdaughter Tami S. (Adam) Muntain of Surprise, AZ; a stepson, Todd D. Meacham of Wellsboro, PA;  7 grandchildren:  David & Steven Meacham, Nathan & Benjamin Thompson, Kayla & Hayley Robins, and Gabriella Muntain; three brothers, Walter D. (Lauren) Miles, Stephen P. (Darlene) Miles both of Port Allegany, Michael J. (Donna) Miles of Smethport; sisters-in-law,  Candace (Scott) Cornell  and Nancy (Dallas) Kio both of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,  David,  four  brothers,

Delbert, Robert, Larry, and Kenneth Miles; and four sisters, Virginia Wenner, Constance Thompkins, Phyllis Miles and Roseanna Connolly.

Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service Saturday (Feb. 17, 2024) at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Port Allegany, with Rev. Jeff Sweigart, Rev. Michael Culver, and Rev. Bruce Moses co-officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church, Port Allegany, or Break the Chains Coalition.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
