Donovan W. McLaughlin
KEATING SUMMIT - Donovan W. McLaughlin, 81, of State Route 607, passed away Saturday (Dec. 1, 2018) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born April 1, 1937, in Minnehaha Springs, WV, he was a son of William T. and Sylvia Dillie McLaughlin. On Sept. 15, 1960, in Keating Summit, he married Mary L. McLeod, who survives.
Donovan was a veteran having served in the US Army, during the Vietnam War.
He was first employed with Bruce Galford as a logger, and most recent with the Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, before his retirement.
Mr. McLaughlin was a member of the Keating Summit Methodist Church, and member of American Association of Retired Persons. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four wheeling.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary, are a son, Duane A. (Sally) McLaughlin of Ridgway; two daughters, Brenda L. (Dave) Mack of Galeton, and Marlene S. (Dave) Smith of Emporium; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bruce McLaughlin, and a sister, Jewel Buzzard.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 5, 2018) with Rev. Steven Small, pastor of the Keating Summit Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Portage Township Cemetery, Gardeau.
A military service will be conducted by the Port Allegany Honor Guard immediately following the funeral.
